We are excited to share that Downside Pre-School is now officially part of the Dunstable Community Lottery, a fantastic local initiative designed to support good causes in our area. This is a brilliant opportunity for our pre-school to raise much needed funds while giving our supporters the chance to win cash prizes every week.

How the Dunstable Community Lottery Works
The Dunstable Community Lottery is a weekly draw that supports community groups, charities, and schools across the Dunstable area. Tickets cost just £1 per week, and 50p from every ticket goes straight to your chosen cause, in this case, we hope – us! Downside Pre-school.

Where Your Support Goes
Funds raised through the Dunstable Community Lottery will help us in three key areas:
1. Refreshing and Replenishing Resources
Children learn best through hands on play, exploration, and imagination. We are always working to update and improve our resources, art supplies, and equipment we provide, ensuring our environment remains stimulating, safe, and enriching for all our children.
2. Creating a Welcoming Space
We are also planning to redecorate parts of the pre-school, giving our indoor spaces a fresh, clean feel. A well maintained environment supports learning, emotional wellbeing, and pride in our setting, and we want every child who walks through our doors to feel happy, safe, and inspired.
3. Looking Ahead: A Special School Trip
Looking slightly further ahead, we are also hoping to fund a whole setting trip to Whipsnade Zoo in 2026. A chance for children and families to experience a big day out together. While most of our current cohort will have moved on by then, building up funds now helps make this kind of opportunity possible for future children and their families.
